DIY Wall Art & Jewellery Dish ♥

Hey so as one or two of ye will know I haven't posted in a while and for that I am very sorry! For the last week or so I have been working on this post so I hope you like it.

Firstly I'm going to show you how to make this really cute customisable wall art:

What you'll need:Card,
Washi tape,

Okay so lets get started. For the first step I got a piece of card and marked off where I wanted the colours to be divide with some washi tape.
(Tip: If you remove some of the stickiness off the washi tape it gives a cleaner and easier peel off.)

For step 2 you are going to add a pop of colour to your card. I went for a light pink, a pale mint and bronze. For the mint i just mixed a shade of green -that I thought was somewhat similar to the colour I wanted- with white.

Step three. Wait for the paint to dry and peel off the tape, slowly. This is what mine looked like:

Last but not least pop your artwork in a frame. And tada you have a cute custom decor item.

Okay so now on to the second DIY. Which is this cute clay Yin-Yang dish thing for jewellery and rings.

What you'll need:
  • Clay,
  • X-acto knife,
  • Pencil or something to make indents,
  • Paint.

Firstly you need to take a small bit of clay and roll it out. Once you are happy with the size and thickness using a x-acto knife cut out you desired shape. I went for a circle.

For the next step I simply went over where I wanted indents using a pencil. For the circle indents of the Yin-Yang symbol I used the smooth part of a bottle cap.

Next to form the bowl shape I happened to have a bowl of the correct proportions yo sit it in, but other wise you can just use your fingers to roll up the edges. (Tip: If your using a bowl to shape you clay it helps to cover your bowl in cling film for easy removal.)

Since my clay was air dry I waited a few days until it was completely dry before removing it from the bowl and then you can get painting. Here is the finished product

So I hope you liked it I'm so sorry about the wait, I'll try post more regularly.
